Reviewing forms of poetry and the urban experience.
Trace DePass is a poet, author, playwright and percussionist from Queens. He is a member of Amity Baptist Church and knows that without a doubt, all the praises and honor belong to God for all his blessings and accomplishments. He is a skilled teaching Poet & Percussionist, received a National Gold Medal from Scholastic for his writing portfolio “Black Boyhood” in 2015. In 2016, Trace became the Teen Poet Laureate for the Borough of Queen and is currently a New York City Youth Poet Ambassador. Trace also served as the editor for Scholastic’s Best Teen Writing Anthology of 2017. Trace is presently the in-house poet for the Langston Hughes House in Harlem where he facilitates workshops and tours. Trace is a 2018 Poets House Fellow recipient and his debut book of poems entitled “Self-Portrait as the space between us” comes out in April.
